New advances in DNA technology at CWRU promise to revolutionize genetic testing

cleveland.com (subscription required): Mohamed S. Draz, assistant professor at the School of Medicine, discussed a new DNA testing technique, known as AMPLON (Amplifying DNA with Multiarm Priming and Looping Optimization of Nucleic Acid), that he and his team produced. It offers an alternative to the previously accepted “gold-standard” of DNA testing, opening the opportunity for more applications in medical diagnosis.
