Health Day: After studies connected a common type of heartburn medication to increased risk of chronic kidney disease, Michael Wolfe, professor of medicine, weighed in on other contributing factors, including obesity and the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID). “I suspect if [researchers] correct for NSAID use, they will see this correlation disappear,” Wolfe said.
