Medicine’s Jason Chao co-authors piece about medical school graduates entering primary care

Jason Chao, professor in the School of Medicine, co-authored a study titled “Contributions of US Medical Schools to Primary Care (2003-2014): Determining and Predicting Who Really Goes Into Primary Care.”

Current methods for identifying medical school graduates planning to enter primary care overestimate the number who actually practice primary care. The study identifies an alternative method that better approximates the true number.
