Medicine’s James Werner, Colin Crowe pen article on using SMART goals to achieve a healthy weight

An article by James Werner, associate professor of medicine, and Colin Crowe, assistant professor of medicine, was published in the January issue of Capsules, a publication from the Ohio Cardiovascular & Diabetes Health Collaborative (Cardi-OH).

Their article, titled “Using SMART Goals to Promote a Healthy Body Weight,” describes how patients and providers can work together to set SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-based) goals to implement lifestyle changes that promote a healthy body weight and overall health.

Karen Bailey of Ohio University also was a contributing author.

Case Western Reserve University is the lead institution for Cardi-OH, a statewide initiative of healthcare professionals at Ohio’s seven medical schools who share knowledge to improve Medicaid patient outcomes and eliminate health disparities across Ohio.
