Medical students selected for Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellowships

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute recently announced its 2016 class of Medical Research Fellows, with four Case Western Reserve University representatives among the 66 total selected.

The program allows students to spend a full year working in the lab on projects they proposed.

The following students were selected as fellows:

  • Daniel Hettel, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine
  • Tolulope Rosanwo, School of Medicine
  • Anne Song, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine
  • Jason Ya, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine

Hettel and Song will both complete their fellowships at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Meanwhile, Rosanwo will head to Harvard Medical School and Ya will conduct his fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine.

In addition, Charles Dai, of the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and 2015-2016 program fellow, was selected for funding to continue through a second year.
