Change is in the air and graduation is around the corner. Anisha Garg and Kelsey Jensen, two 4th year medical students decided to resurrect Share the Loaf: Make the World a Bread-er Place! Share the Loaf made its first appearance in the Fall of 2016 with the mission to encourage charitable donations to worthy causes in exchange for homemade loaves of bread.

In its first year of existence, the organization raised and donated approximately $5,300 to Planned Parenthood, American Civil Liberties Union, Natural Resources Defense Council, Trevor Project, and White Helmets.

As graduation approaches, Anisha and Kelsey restarted Share the Loaf in their last months of medical school in the form of a 2 day bake sale. With the support of the medical school and hospital communities, the bake sale raised approximately $750 that was donated to the American Civil Liberties Union and Wounded Warriors making the total monies raised by Share the Loaf over $6,000. Both Anisha and Kelsey are incredibly grateful to the CWRU community and are looking forward to their future careers as Neurologists.
