Four carillonneurs are braving the Cleveland weather in the 140-foot McGaffin Tower to give University Circle listeners music for the winter season this week and next week.

University Circle Carillonneur George Leggiero is joined by guest artists Patrick Macoska, Van Parker, and David Osburn to present informal half-hour selections at 12:15-12:45 p.m. weekdays through December 29 (except December 25; no published programs or Tower Tours with this series).

Thursday, Dec. 21, at 4:30 p.m., the carillon’s music will once again accompany the meditation of participants in the Seidman Cancer Center’s annual candlelit labyrinth walk in the Schneider Healing Garden across the street from the Tower. George Leggiero plays each year. All are welcome at the labyrinth.

All are also welcome at Leggiero’s annual 7:30-8 p.m. Christmas Eve formal carillon recital of familiar carol arrangements and classical compositions for carillon. Indoor music and a service of lessons and carols follow in the Church of the Covenant sanctuary.

The lunchtime series is presented with the support of the Leonard Krieger Fund of the Cleveland Foundation. For more information, visit www.ucbells.org or call the Friends of the McGaffin Carillon in University Circle at 216.535.4411.
