Throughout the next two to three weeks, sidewalk closures are possible in the Mayfield Bridge area, as crews work to address sludge and drainage issues. Work will only occur Monday through Thursday. If the sidewalk does close, crews will re-open each day before they leave.
Detour signs will be up on either side of the bridge so that pedestrians can cross safely to the other side of the street and walk along Mayfield Road.
Once work is completed, crews will turn its attention to the opposite side of the street (non-RTA station side). This work is estimated to occur during the month of June.
While the project will address almost all of the sludge and drainage issues, the final phase of the work will occur during RTA construction in late summer/early fall.
At that time, RTA will install a new sidewalk in addition to new railings and other improvements. When the new sidewalk is installed, crews will install the final drainage work underneath the sidewalk.
