Mather Spotlight Awards, Women of Achievement luncheon to honor women faculty Oct. 12

The Flora Stone Mather Center for Women and the Office of the Provost invite the campus community to the Mather Spotlight Awards and Women of Achievement Luncheon, a lunch being held Oct. 12 to honor women faculty and notable women heroes.

President Barbara R. Snyder will greet guests at the event, and deans will be on hand to bestow the awards. The luncheon will take place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Thwing Center ballroom.

The Mather Spotlight Prize honorees are: Alexis Abramson, Case School of Engineering; Jill S. Barnholtz-Sloan, School of Medicine; Joyce J. Fitzpatrick, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing; Lisa A. Lang, School of Dental Medicine; Marie Lathers, College of Arts and Sciences; Anna Maria Santiago, Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences; Yi-Jing Wu, Weatherhead School of Management; and Ruqaiijah Yearby, School of Law.

The 2012 Notable Women of the Year are: Edith Lerner, professor emerita of nutrition at the School of Medicine, and Sarah Taylor, founder and chair of the CWRU Newcomers’ Committee.
