Mathematics’ Elisabeth Werner to teach a course abroad, organizes a geometry conference

Elisabeth Werner, professor of mathematics, will teach a weeklong course on “Floating bodies and affine invariants” at Goethe University Frankfurt from Monday, July 2, to Friday, July 6. Course topics will include floating bodies, affine surface area and approximation of convex bodies by polytopes.

Additionally, Werner and alumnus Deping Ye will host a conference titled “Recent Advances in Convex Geometry and Geometric Functional Analysis” at the Tsinghua Sanya International Mathematics Forum in Sanya, China, from Monday, May 14, to Friday, May 18.
