Drivers can expect increased traffic—and occasional 20-30 minute closures—on Ford Drive between Euclid Avenue and Bellflower Road beginning Monday (Aug. 7) as demolition work continues on Ford Road Garage.
The mass demolition will take approximately three weeks; during this time the road will be closed for brief, unscheduled periods to allow for delivery and removal of materials. Drivers traveling south on Ford Drive will still be able to access Hessler Road during these intermittent closures, but those traveling north will not.
The passageway between Ford Road Garage and the Mather Memorial Building will not be accessible to vehicles during these road closures. Additionally, all vehicular and pedestrian access to this passageway will be closed from 6 a.m. on Aug. 10 through 5 p.m. on Aug. 12.
Finally, those who live and/or work near the garage should expect additional noise as this work is being completed. Both project partner Case Western Reserve and property owner University Circle Inc. appreciate the community’s patience during this time.
