Victor Groza, the Grace F. Brody Professor of Parent-Child Studies at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, recently recorded a series of videos about the American child welfare system. The videos were translated into Korean and sent to an alum of the Mandel School’s Master of Science in Social Administration and PhD programs for an international symposium for social work-related professionals.
The purpose of this project was to start a national conversation about the child welfare system in Korea that is mostly based on institutions, whereas the U.S. and most of Western Europe use a family-based system of substitute care.
