Mandel School’s Scott Wilkes named to state’s Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board

Scott Wilkes, assistant professor and assistant dean of academic affairs at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, was appointed by Gov. Mike DeWine to the Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, for a term beginning Feb. 28, 2020, and ending Oct. 10, 2022.

This board is responsible for developing licensing standards for health professionals in the names areas. As the licensing board it enforces the standards to protect the people of Ohio.

“Holding master’s and doctorate in social work and the juris doctorate, Scott is well trained and prepared to serve the profession and the people,” said Grover C. Gilmore, dean of the Mandel School. “As a faculty member in social work, he also brings experience in developing curricula in social work and teaching master’s students. His insights as an academic will be invaluable to the board. Finally, as one highly engaged at CWRU in interprofessional education, Scott values the professional interactions of not only all health providers. I am looking forward to not only his service but also his insightful leadership on the board.”
