The Atlantic: Rob Fischer, research professor and co-director of the Center on Urban Poverty and Community Development, discussed the center’s study into how a home’s physical condition is linked to a child’s academic performance. “The discussion also needs to include getting people into better housing, instead of just being satisfied that they have an address,” he said. “There needs to be much more on the quality of housing and moving up toward better housing opportunities.”
