Charities Face Growing Need in Pandemic Without Volunteers

Associated Press: Grover C. Gilmore—dean of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences—weighed in on a developing shortage of volunteers, due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, saying: “Volunteers are needed the most in times of crisis,” a phenomenon that can leave charities and nonprofits with fewer hands-on-deck to meet a growing need for distributing essential services and goods.
