cleveland.comDavid Crampton, associate professor in the Center on Poverty and Community Development at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, noted that for many youth involved in the juvenile justice system, the pathway into delinquency begins with a traumatic experience. “Trauma is the story,” he said. “We can put these kids in juvenile detention, or residential care, but if they don’t get help with their trauma, they’re not going to get better.”
