Mandel School’s Daniel J. Flannery elected 2024 Fellow of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare

Daniel J. Flannery, the Dr. Semi J. and Ruth Begun professor and director of the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education, has been elected a 2024 Fellow of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare (AASWSW), a distinguished honorific society of prominent scholars, top researchers and practitioners dedicated to achieving excellence in high-impact work to advance social good.

Flannery, who is one of eight inductees, was formally inducted as an AASWSW Fellow during the 2024 Society for Social Work and Research Annual Conference in Washington, D.C earlier this year. He is the eighth Mandel School AASWSW Fellow, joining colleagues David Biegel, Claudia Coulton, Grover “Cleve” Gilmore, Victor Groza, Mark Singer, Elizabeth Tracy and Dexter Voisin.
