Claudia J. Coulton, the Lillian F. Harris Professor of Urban Research and Social Change, and Dexter R. Voisin, the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel Dean of Applied Social Sciences, were recognized for their prominence in academic research in Stanford University’s database of standardized citation indicators.

Stanford’s study included data on over six million scientists around the world to investigate the number of times a researcher’s work was referenced in another scientific publication. According to Stanford’s August 2021 data update, Coulton and Voisin are among the top two percent of most-cited researchers in the world. 170 current or former CWRU faculty members were also mentioned in this category.
