cleveland.com (subscription required): Angela Newman-White, executive director of First Year Cleveland at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, said Cuyahoga County’s infant mortality rate is slowly declining, but inequities continue to persist. “The latest three-year data from 2020–2022 notes the county’s overall infant mortality rate at 7.38 per 1,000 live births,” she said. “However, the rate of deaths for Black infants was nearly twice as high, at 13.44 deaths for every 1,000 births.”
