Students are invited to an International Education Programs Lunch and Learn information session to hear about the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences’ three-credit study abroad course to Ecuador during winter break.
The session will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Mandel School, Room 238.
Students can bring their lunch and get a sneak peek at the program and learn about the connection between the rainforest and social work.
About the Mandel School’s offerings
The Mandel School will offer seven short-term, faculty-led, three-credit study abroad courses this year. The study abroad courses are open to all undergraduate and graduate students at Case Western Reserve University (any major). These international opportunities are designed to enable students to see comparative social service systems and gain new insights into the needs of people in the U.S. and abroad. The school’s education abroad courses promote student interaction with communities, international policy makers and direct-service providers. Course topics include social welfare, social justice, health care, global health, mental health, substance abuse, macro social and economic issues.
