Mandel School graduate student elected to National Association of Social Workers position

Ruby L. Gibbons, a graduate student in the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, recently was elected regional director of an Ohio chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

Gibbons was elected to a two-year term as regional director of region eight, which includes Ashland, Coshocton, Crawford, Holmes, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Stark, Tuscarawas and Wayne counties. She is earning her Master of Science degree in social administration, with a concentration in community and social development, as part of the Mandel School’s Intensive Weekend Program, from which she intends to graduate in May 2013.

Gibbons works at the Crisis Intervention and Recovery Center in Canton as a family therapist with the Multisystemic Therapy Program on the problem sexual behavior team.
