Mandel Leadership Fellows capstone projects

The Mandel Leadership Fellows will present their capstone projects via a webinar Thursday, May 13, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The capstone projects are a culminating scholarly project completed by the Fellows in conjunction with the evidence-based practice course (SASS 538: Evidence-Based Practice, Selection, Implementation and Practice Issues) completed in their final semester.

The projects critically examine some aspect of evidence-based social work practice, and typically explore and propose new or best practice innovations to improve social work direct or community practices.

The Leadership Fellows will give the following presentations:

  1. Ebony Clayton: “Promoting LGBTQ+ Equity in Youth Drop-In Centers”
  2. Cheyenne DeShields: “Examining the Roles and Needs of VA Occupational Health Providers in Supporting Worker Mental Health During COVID-19”
  3. Amanda Ferrante: “The ABCs of Sleep: An Ongoing Effort to Address Infant Mortality in NICU Families”
  4. Marivi Howell-Arza: “Narrative Therapy for Enhancing Self-Identity in Non-Binary Adults”
  5. Lexy Lattimore: “Hood Ballets: Setting the Stage for Healing-Centered Community Building”
  6. Mai Segawa: “The Rainbow Life Goal Setting Activity for Children”
  7. Olivia Walsh: “The Impact of COVID-19 on an Ohio Syringe Exchange Program”
