Schedule includes slate of international programming and roster of returning favorites

The world comes to Cleveland for the 2022-23 Silver Hall Concert Series at the Milton and Tamar Maltz Center for Performing Arts at the Temple-Tifereth Israel on the campus of Case Western Reserve University.

The series features music and dance performance from Zimbabwe, India, Ukraine and the African Diaspora, along with Cleveland mainstays and an array of Case Western Reserve music department ensembles—including a student-created and directed music ensemble.

“This is the most exciting and international season of the Silver Hall Concert Series to date,” said Maltz Center Director Jason Cohen.

Tickets are free to all Silver Hall Concert Series events; registration in advance is recommended. Each of the performances also will be live streamed on the Maltz Center website

The Maltz Center is in the former Temple-Tifereth Israel at 1855 Ansel Road in University Circle.

From global dance to  local music

Oct. 22–23 brings a weekend of globe-trotting music and dance. Black Umfolosi specializes in the traditions of Zimbabwe imbube music, gumboot dance and Zulu dance. Shri Kalaa Mandir presents the energy and pageantry of India with the classical dance and traditional choreography of Bharatanatyam.

The spring season begins with Zorya Ukrainian Female Vocal Orchestra, followed by performances from the Djapo Cultural Arts Center.

And from the Cleveland area, local string sensations Renovare, with spoken word from Vision, the Cleveland Chamber Choir and the Suburban Symphony Orchestra will fill Silver Hall, along with a slate of diverse chamber and ensemble offerings from Case Western Reserve.

The season ends with the award-winning student club Dhamakapella, a South Asian fusion a cappella group composed of scholars from majors across the university, singing styles from around the world.
