Light the Campus: Night of Remembrance

Remember those the university community has lost to all types of death at Light the Campus: Night of Remembrance Friday, Feb. 3, at 5 p.m. at Kelvin Smith Library Oval.

University Health and Counseling Services will host the event in collaboration with Student Affairs, the Student Mental Health Coalition, the Student Presidents Roundtable, National Alliance on Mental Illness on Campus, Theta Chi Fraternity and the Mental Health Alliance.

Speakers, including undergraduate deans, will read names submitted by undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff and community members, followed by a moment of silence for each person.

Themes of the night will include coping with grief, resilience and hope for the future. Resources for grief support and mental health will be made available, as well as food and refreshments following the event. All are welcome.

To have the names of friends, peers, family members and other loved ones read at the memorial, fill out the online form. The submission deadline is Thursday, Feb. 2, at midnight.
