The Institute for the Science of Origins will host a virtual installment of its Life, the Universe and Hot Dogs Series today (April 16) at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom.
Elina Gertsman, the Archbishop Paul J. Hallinan Professor in Catholic Studies II and professor of art history, will present “Macabre Encounters” describing late medieval brushes with epidemics and the imagery that arose during these times. These events are approximately 30 minutes in duration, including the presentation and time for audience questions and discussion.
Gertsman is a noted expert on medieval art. In 2020, she was named a Guggenheim Fellow.
