“Left-Handed DNA and Backwards Brains: The ‘Whys’ and ‘Why Nots’ of Creating Scientific and Medical Visuals”

Discussions: Undergraduate Research Journal Club will host a one-hour overview of the field of scientific and medical illustration Saturday, April 1, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Clapp Hall, Room 108.

Thomas Nowacki, associate professor at the Cleveland Institute of Art, will present “Left-Handed DNA and Backwards Brains: The ‘Whys’ and ‘Why Nots’ of Creating Scientific and Medical Visuals.”Nowacki will offer basic tips for creating your own visuals (software to use, techniques for various topics, direction of illustrated pieces), with a Q&A session immediately following.
