The campus community is invited to join the African American Alumni Association and the Office of Multicultural Affairs for an evening with alumna Shaneen Harris (GRS ’97) as she presents “Daring to Dream in Difficult Days.”
After following the blueprint to achieve the American dream, Harris was left feeling empty and without purpose. “I worked hard, earned college degrees, had a career, money, house and cars, but felt like something was missing,” she said. Harris will talk about how she created new dreams and purposes in her life and how others can continue to reach goals, then create new ones.
Harris has been a motivational speaker for two years, expanding on her lifelong commitment to use first-hand experiences and encouragement to uplift and mentor others.
All are invited to attend the free event Thursday, March 20, at 5:30 p.m. at the Alumni House.
