Attend Mini Med School this spring, with courses taught by School of Medicine faculty experts

Learn about the latest medical breakthroughs that could improve your health and increase your understanding of medical issues affecting family or friends with the Spring 2017 Mini Med School program.

No math or science background is needed to attend these sessions, which will be led by faculty experts at Case Western Reserve University.

The program will be held Wednesdays May 3–31 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participants can attend as many events as they’d like.

The program will cover the following topics:

  • May 3: “Orthopaedics: Common Foot and Ankle Problems,” taught by Randall Marcus, professor of orthopaedics
  • May 10: “Reproductive Biology: High-Risk Pregnancy, Short- and Long-Term Effects of Maternal Obesity on the Mother and Her Child,” taught by Patrick Catalano, professor of reproductive biology
  • May 17: “Radiation Oncology: Overview of Radiation Oncology Featuring Proton Beam Therapy at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center,” taught by David Mansur, associate professor of radiation oncology and pediatrics
  • May 24: “Pediatrics: ADHD Across the Lifespan,” taught by Max Wiznitzer, professor of pediatrics and neurology
  • May 31: “Medicine: Integrative Oncology and Palliative Care,” taught by Richard Lee, associate professor of medicine
