With Comic-Con descending into Cleveland this week, did you ever wonder who created Superman and why he remains an iconic presence?
The Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center will sponsor an evening of discovery and interaction with Brad Ricca, lecturer in the Department of English and author of Super Boys, on Friday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in Ford Auditorium at the Allen Memorial Medical Library. Ricca also will sign copies of his book.
Scott Dowling and Anna Janicki of the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center will provide psychoanalytic perspectives on the lives of the comic book’s creators, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Ivan Schwarz, president of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, will discuss the trend of comic books to major motion pictures, Superman being the first.
