Learn about the Middle East’s political stability vs. energy sustainability dilemma in Nov. 8 talk

On Nov. 8, the College of Arts and Sciences and the Sustainability Alliance will present a talk with Jim Krane titled “Stability vs. Sustainability: The Gulf Monarchs’ Energy Dilemma.”

Krane is a Cambridge University doctoral candidate as well as the author of the book, City of Gold: Dubai and the Dream of Capitalism.

In his presentation, Krane will examine the delicate balance among energy sustainability, political stability and economic productivity in the Middle East.

The talk will take place in Thwing Center’s 1914 Lounge from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free to the public.
