Learn about health benefits, drawbacks of vitamins April 1

Some swear by the wellness benefits of vitamins and supplements, claiming more energy, fewer sick days, improved complexion and more. But are there downsides to taking more than 100 percent of daily recommendations? At the next 121 Fitness Center Nutrition Series event, registered dietitian Ryanne Gallagher will host “Vitamins and Supplements: Do We Need Them?” Gallagher will discuss when vitamins are helpful in the diet, and when they are unnecessary and potentially dangerous.

The event will take place Tuesday, April 1, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Kettlebell room of the 121 Fitness Center.
