Women are catching up to their male counterparts in regard to matriculation and retention rates due to many of the empowerment resources and leadership development programs for women.
Yet some question the value for university programs with a women-centered focus. What are the reasons that we still need a center for women and what type of programming addresses those reasons?
At the next University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education session, Susan Freimark, acting director of the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, will discuss the ways in which the center promotes women faculty, staff and student success at the university and in their careers.
The session will be held Thursday, July 28, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Allen Memorial Medical Library’s Herrick Room (use Adelbert Road doors).
Pizza and sodas will be provided at this session.
