The law school’s Institute for Global Security Law & Policy will host the Judge Ben C. Green Lecture Sept. 11. This year’s topic will be “Resistance & Rights: Civil Society & the Surprising Resilience of the Rule of Law after 9/11.”
Professor David Cole of the Georgetown University Law Center will present the lecture, which begins at 4:30 p.m. in the moot courtroom. A reception will follow.
During his talk, Cole will explore the role of civil society and the rule of law in post-9/11 America. This includes a series of counter-terrorism tactics, including indefinite detention, warrantless wiretapping and torture.
The lecture will be available as a live webcast or for viewing on demand afterward. Visit law.case.edu/lectures to view or for more information.
