Learn about nature of DNA bond at today’s Frontiers in Chemistry event

Chad MirkinThe Frontiers in Chemistry series will continue today (Oct. 14) at 4:30 p.m. in the Millis Schmitt Auditorium.

Chad Mirkin, director of the International Institute for Nanotechnology and the George B. Rathmann Prof. of Chemistry at Northwestern University, will deliver a talk on “Programmable Materials and the Nature of the DNA Bond.”

Mirkin is a world-renowned nanoscience expert, who is known for his development of nanoparticle-based biodetection schemes, invention of Dip-Pen Nanolithography and contributions to supramolecular chemistry. He is the author of over 562 manuscripts and over 930 patents worldwide (246 issued) and the founder of four companies, which are commercializing nanotechnology applications in the life science and semiconductor industries.
