Kathy Magliato (MED ’90) is one of fewer than a dozen female heart surgeons practicing in the world today. She is also a member of an even more exclusive group—surgeons who perform heart transplants. Magliato will present a TED-style talk discussing the leadership principles she has learned in the operating room (OR) and applied to everyday leadership challenges. Through this discussion, participants will be taken inside the workings of a cardiac OR where the execution of leadership skills means the difference between life and death.
Magliato will present “Leading With Your Heart: Leadership Lessons from the OR” Thursday, May 2, at 4 p.m. in Biomedical Research Building, Room 105.
