Leaders in technology: CWRU will host Internet2 Technology Exchange conference Oct. 4-7

Technology Exchange 2015 logoCase Western Reserve University will host the Internet2 Technology Exchange 2015 conference Oct. 4-7.

The event will bring together technology industry leaders in many fields, including networking, security, trust and identity, virtualization, cloud services, high-performance computing, and storage. The goal of the event—themed “Envision, Collaborate. Innovate.”—is to facilitate collaboration of technical ideas and information.

The event will feature many speakers from Case Western Reserve University, including Mark Griswold, professor of radiology, and Sue Workman, vice president of Information Technology Services and chief information officer, who will give a featured presentation detailing the Microsoft HoloLens project and how CWRU, Cleveland Clinic and Microsoft partnered on the new technology.

Other featured event speakers will include:

  • Sue Gordon, deputy director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
  • Charlie Catlett, founding director of Urban Center for Computation and Data, UrbanCCD Open Data and Instrumenting Cities
  • Joseph Emerson, faculty member at the Institute for Quantum Computing and associate professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Waterloo.

Registration for the event is available online. Scholarships are available for women in technology. Applications for these scholarships are due Sept. 8 and are available online.
