Hundreds of Chinese families seek wartime compensation from Japan
Reuters: The descendants of hundreds of Chinese men forced to work in wartime Japan are suing modern-day Japanese corporations, seeking millions in compensation. Some courts have accepted such cases, including a suit in February—the significance of which “is not wholly clear at this point, but it does suggest that compensation might be in the offing,” said Timothy Webster, director of East Asian Legal Studies.
