Law’s Stephan Petras discussed the U.S.’s reliance on Chinese goods pre-pandemic

Ohio positioned well as trade deal enforcement ramps up

Crain’s Cleveland Business (subscription required): Stephen Petras, director of the Frederick K. Cox International Law Center and director of the Canada-United States Law Institute, discussed the trade environment before the global COVID-19 pandemic, which put a spotlight on America’s over-reliance on Chinese goods.  “We were in a world where pursuing the cheapest supply was the norm,” he said. “We also realized that the same time that the pandemic hit that there were strategic weaknesses in the U.S. with respect to our supply chains.”
