Nursing home owners get a free pass on pandemic accountability

Hahn Professor of Law, weighed in on a story about why a vastly disproportionate number of U.S. COVID-19 infections and deaths have occurred in nursing homes and long-term care facilities. Part of it has to do with blanket immunity from legal liability, granted to health care facilities by executive order and emergency legislation, that can only be lifted by the governor ostensibly when a crisis ends.
