Law’s Sharona Hoffman examines primary care model in healthcare

Zest Pediatric Network offers alternative way to practice care
Crain’s Cleveland BusinessSharona Hoffman, the Edgar A. Hahn Professor of Law and co-director of the Law-Medicine Center, said the direct primary care model in healthcare has grown in the past decade, driven significantly by physician burnout. “A lot of physicians are very burnt out, very frustrated by the fact that they get 15 minutes for patients, that a lot of their time is taken arguing with insurance companies, that they’re now employed by employers that care about profits more than they care about spending time with patients and giving the highest quality of care,” she said.
