Hahn Professor of Law and co-director of the Law-Medicine Center, said it is up to a judge to decide how much weight to give an amicus brief about a case involving voting laws. “But I think a judge would take seriously the fact that people of such high stature from other states took the trouble to file this brief,” she said.
