A breastfeeding mom was denied an exemption for jury duty to feed her baby—so she challenged the system
Parents Magazine: Sharona Hoffman, the Edgar A. Hahn Professor of Law and co-director of the Law-Medicine Center, commented on Alabama’s jury duty policies for breastfeeding parents. “Approximately half the states exempt breastfeeding mothers from jury duty or allow them to postpone jury service,” she said, advising breastfeeding mothers to contact the court for possible exemptions or postponements.
