Crime lab scandals the focus of new DOJ plan
PBS: Paul Giannelli, Distinguished University Professor and Albert J. Weatherhead III and Richard W. Weatherhead Professor of Law, weighed in on the Department of Justice’s recently announced plan to require its prosecutors to only use evidence that is processed by accredited labs. To prevent lab scandals from happening, accreditation has to do more than simply become universal—it must also become rigorous, he said.
