Law’s Miranda Leppla discusses law school helping East Palestine in aftermath of train derailment

Case Western Reserve University hosts environmental law clinic in East Palestine
ideastreamMiranda Leppla, director of the Environmental Law Clinic at the School of Law, discussed the law school’s participation in a clinic that offered free legal advice in East Palestine in the aftermath of the disaster in February when 38 cars of a Norfolk Southern freight train carrying hazardous materials went off the rails—and were subsequently burned. “Because we don’t have any financial stake in this … we’re coming to provide assistance without any expectation of any kind of monetary benefit from this,” Leppla said. “We’re just really trying to provide as much information as we can.”
