Judge in Cleveland police shooting case visited FOP event days before acquitting officer

The Plain Dealer: The judge who acquitted a Cleveland police officer attended a Fraternal Order of Police event two days before the trial. “You have to question attending an event like that on the eve of a trial and then publicizing it,” said Michael Benza, senior instructor of law. “It’s not a conflict of interest, but it raises an appearance of some concern.”
