Jimmy Dimora trial: Prosecutors never filed sex charges in gambling junket to Windsor

The Plain Dealer: Two of former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora’s friends took paid escorts to Canada in violation of the Mann Act, but federal prosecutors did not file charges against them. Instead, they were charged with the more serious charge of bribery. “If you have a person on eight counts of capital murder and the police catch him jaywalking at the time of the arrest, why worry about jaywalking?” explained Michael Benza, School of Law visiting associate professor.
