Law’s Katharine Van Tassel weighs in on lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program

Lawsuit challenges federal vaccine injury compensation program

Medpage Today: Katharine Van Tassel, professor of practice at the School of Law, discussed a recently filed lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the federal Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP). “It’s got legs,” she said. “I think it’s a good case.” She added that a significant concern is that a lack of compensation will fuel anti-vaccination efforts, noting she believes there may be similar legal challenges to the CICP’s constitutionality that follow suit.
