Law’s Juscelino Colares presents in U.S. and Canada, publishes papers

Juscelino F. Colares, professor of law and associate director of the Frederick K. Cox International Law Center, recently published and presented his work on a number of topics.

His article, “The Reality of EU-Conformity Review in France,” was published in the Columbia Journal of European Law in the fall. Additionally, his article, “Global Implications of the EU and Australian Carbon-Restricting Regimes,” will be published in the Georgetown International Environmental Law Review in 2013.

On the presentation front, Colares moderated the panel, “The President’s Power to Manage International Economic Affairs,” at the Cox Center-sponsored American Branch of the International Law Association/Midwest Regional Conference. Hosted by the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, the Sept. 7 conference was titled “Presidential Power, Foreign Affairs, and the 2012 Election.”

Colares also presented “Global Implications of the EU and Australian Carbon-Restricting Regimes” at the 13th Global Environmental Tax Conference, hosted by the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, Sept. 20-22.

From Oct. 12-13, Colares presented “Paths to Carbon Stabilization: How Foreign Carbon-Restrictive Reforms Will Affect U.S. Industry, Climate Policy and the Prospects of a Binding Emission Reduction Treaty” at the Midwest Law and Economics Association Annual Meeting, hosted by the Center on Law, Innovation and Economic Growth of Washington University School of Law.
