Area judges react to board’s advisement to perform same-sex marriages
The News-Herald: The Board of Professional Conduct of the Supreme Court of Ohio recently released an advisory stating that judges could not refuse to marry same-sex couples. “The basic idea that judges can refuse to perform marriages because they have some kind of objection just seems to be inconsistent with the position of judge,” Jonathan L. Entin, the Brennan Professor of Law, said.
