Amish bishop Samuel Mullet opposes federal prison rule requiring him to attend school classes
The Plain Dealer: Some Amish inmates are being required to study for high school equivalency certificates, which a lawyer says violates their First Amendment rights. Jonathan Entin, the David L. Brennen Professor of Law, said the inmates have a “far from frivolous claim” but may not prevail because prisons require classes for most inmates who lack high school diplomas.
